keying and saving a wordperfect document (save document)

at the clear wordperfect edting windown , you can begin keying information to creat a document . adocument is any information you choose , for instance , aletter , a memo , report , a term paper , or a table .
saving a document ----
when you have created a document , the information will need to be saved on your disk . when a document is keyed (typed) for the first time and is displayed in the edting windown .it is only temporay . if you turn off the computer or if the power goes off you will lose the information and hve to rekey it .
only when you save a document on the disk is it saved permanently. everytime you load wordperfect . you will be able to bring a saved document back to the edting windown.
a variety of methods can be used to save a document , such as the following :
* click on the save button on the toolbar.
* click on the file , then save .
* press the alt key , the letter "f" , then the letter "s".
* press ctrl+s.
to save a document with the save button , you would complete the following steps :
1- position the arrow pointer on the save button ( the third button froom the left on the toolbar , then click the left mouse button .
2-at the save as dialogbox show in figure 17 ( xem hinh )
key a name for the document .
3- click on ok .

in addition to the toolbar , a document can be saved by executing a command . there are three methods that can be used . one method use the menu bar with the mouse , one uses the function keys or shortcut keys .
the function keys can be used to excute commands . some commands require the function key itseft , other commands require the function key together with the alt , shift , or ctrl keys , in the text commands that require two or three keys are shown with a plus sign bettween . for example , the shortcut command to save a document is written as ctrl+s , to use this shortcut command , hold down the ctrl key , press the letter "s" one time , then release the ctrl key .....===> continue ===>
* to save a document using the menu bar with the mouse , you would complete the following steps:
1- click on file , then sace
2- at the save as dialogbox , key a name for the document .
3- click on ok.
* to save a document using the menu bar with the keyboard , you would complete the following steps :
1- press the alt key , the the letter "f" for file , then the ltter "s" for save.
2- at the save as dialogbox , key a name for the document .
3- press the enter key .
* to save a document using the shortcut command, you would complete the following steps :
1- press ctrl +s
2- at the save as dialogbox , key a name for the document .
3- press the enter key .
in this text , the steps to excute a command with the menu bar and the mouse or keyboard , the toolbar ( if applicable) , and the function keys or shortcut keys are combined , for example , the steps to save a document are written as follws :
1- choose file , then save , click on the save button on the toolbar , or press +s.
2- at the save dialogbox , key a name for the document .
3- choose ok or press enter .
* the first part of the first step , " choose file , the save ", identifies what is selected from the menubar and the menu using either the mouse or the keyboard . the second part of the first step , " click on the save button on toolbar , " identifies the button on the toolbar " the third part of the first step " press ctrl+s", identifies the same command using the shortcut command . the last step identifies the option that is select to complete the function .
if you are using the mouse , the word choose mean to click on the menu or option . if you are using the keyboard , word choose mean to press the alt key , press the underlined letter of the desired menu from the menubar , then press the letter of the desired option from the drp-down menu , for more information on excuting commands , please refer to appendix "c" at the end of this text ../.
